If you’ve got a story, we’ve got a stage!
The Coming Out Monologues, YYC is looking for performers to be a part of our 2018 season, and we want you!
This audition will be held in the Q Centre at the University of Calgary (MacEwan Student Centre 210). The Centre is in the same building as the food court on the University of Calgary campus.
Drop by any time from 6:00 to 9:00 PM on Tuesday January 9!
There are also auditions on January 10 and 13 at CommunityWise (Downtown) More info here: https://www.facebook.com/ComingOutYYC/events
Q: Do I have to have a fully written monologue for the audition?
A: No! We ask that you come with a general idea of your story and what you want to share (a pitch, if you will) and give us an idea of what you want to bring to the stage. Throughout the process, we have writing and performance workshops to help you craft a piece that is ready for the stage.
Q: I’ve never been on stage or performed before. Can I still take part?
A: Yes! Most of our performers have little to no stage experience, and we work with you to help get you ready for the stage.
Q: I don’t really like speaking, but I have a dance/song/other form of work that I would like to showcase, can I still take part?
A: Definitely! We encourage all forms of expression to come and be a part of our performances.
Q: I am an ally, does that mean I am not able to perform?
A: Not at all! We welcome ally pieces every year and love to hear diverse perspectives of experiences.
