Starting Monday, March 5 and running every second Monday there after, Skipping Stone is hosting a writers group for youth 13 – 24. This creative writing workshop is simply that – a place where young folks can write with their most fantastic style and voice.
No experience is necessary. Only a willingness to participate and explore. We firmly believe everyone can write, everyone has voice, and everyone should be heard.
Individuals will be encouraged to set their own goals and agendas under the guidance of an instructor.
Should the participant choose, each night might consist of writing prompts, word maps, or creative consultation for those who wish to utilize these tools, or for those who prefer to work independently, it might just be space to do so with both peer and instructor encouragement and feedback.
The goal is for each individual to have a completed piece of work that, if desired will result in a published anthology containing short stories of workshop participants.
Writing materials will be provided, as well as light snacks and refreshments.
We’re absolutely thrilled to have Dallas Barnes join us as the instructor for this group.
