For the past three years, Alright Gents have been making music to ignite your house party spirit and put you in the mood to jump the local ravine on your skateboard.
Each AG track is written by Mason Jenkins (Friendly Neighbourhood Transgender Adventurer) and Garrett Thorson (Team Captain/Lead Guitar) then churned through the artful bass stylings of Brent Rossall (P.A. and Poutine Connoisseur) and driving percussion of Mark Straub (The Loudest, Most Reliable Timepiece we know.)
Alright Gents placed as one of the Top 10 Bands in X92.9’s Xposure 2014 Contest and have shared stages across Alberta with acts such as Mounties, SAVK, HighKicks, Napalmpom, The Wisers, Fast Romantics, Cowpuncher and Miesha and the Spanks.
The band released their first EP, “Don’t Like Red” in 2014, and their follow-up, “Gentlemen’s Club” on April 25, 2015. This second release prompted radio features on Calgary’s X92.9, CJSW, a write-up in Beatroute Magazine and a primetime interview on CTV television.
The Gents released their third recording, “OK GUYS” March 20th, 2016. This 6 track EP channels the band’s familiar boisterous spirit with the polish of the finest Alberta spit shine.
With plans for more shows, new sounds, and a Western Canadian tour, Alright Gents are “the ones you want playing at a beer-soaked basement party while you kiss someone cute for the first time, while a glitter cannon explodes in the air.” – Sarah Kitteringham (Beatroute Magazine)
